''Extremely satisfied and feeling like progress is made for something that has part of me for so long. Having experienced prior therapies that wanted to highlight a treatment for the feeling of anxiety I feel much better that we are going beyond the feeling to the true sources of the feeling''

Words from clients
''...what helps most is the safe, non-judgmental space and the way my therapist listens and reflects back clearly. The balance of warmth and gentle challenge, plus cultural sensitivity and flexibility, leaves me feeling understood, equipped, and hopeful after each session''

''Shannon is a great listener and very kind as a therapist. I don't feel scared or ashamed when I talk to her about my problems. During our sessions, she provides a lot of thoughtful insights as well as a lot of different tools and strategies to help me manage my anxiety and stress, which I find really helpful. After our sessions, she always provides links to resources covering the topic(s) we talked about in greater detail, which I also find very useful and helpful''

Still have questions?
Main concerns in therapy answered

What if I change too much?
How will this affect my life?
This is a common and legit fear when it comes to therapy. You have become great at expressing anxiety and depression. Why not develop a skill of being able to handle these emotions whenever you want? You can always go back to the way you find familiar.

What if this doesn’t work?
There is no risk in taking the first step. In our 40 minute free pre-session, we can talk about your worries and how you would like therapy to go for the most effective way personally for you. I can build around that with effective therapy strategies and techniques to suit you.

I'm scared I will be judged as 'crazy' or 'weak'
I can reassure you that I lead by a practicing unconditional positive regard, which means accepting you without evaluating you. I may reframe your actions, not as inherently bad, but as learned ways of surviving.

I'm scared to be vulnerable; it hasn't served me well in the past.
Sharing personal thoughts and feelings with a stranger, especially for the first time, can be intimidating and feel unsafe. Especially if being vulnerable has lead to being manipulated or deceived in the past.
Be patient with yourself and I will do the same with you. Take the most managable first step towards vulnerability and go from there!
