Reasons why people seek therapy 🧠

Many people can go about their lives 'coping' with what life throws at them by themselves because they feel they have to. There is a stigma that therapy is only for those that are REALLY bad but here are some specifics that I have seen ways that therapy can help.


1. Intense sadness/helplessness 😞 Unfortunately these feelings are very common in people's lives and can be signs of major depression. Therapy can help you talk through feelings and create ways to heal.


2. You're using Alcohol, Drugs and other unhealthy coping mechanisms 🍺 These can relieve stress in the short term but create larger problems in the long term. Therapy can teach you ways to better cope with stress.


3. Inability to handle big change 💀 Loosing a loved one, for instance, can create road blocks in your life. This is primarily because your mind is unable to comprehend the reality of it. Therapy can help you process this and move on.


4. You suspect a serious mental health condition 🧠 You have begun to connect the dots on your symptoms and have come to the conclusion there maybe a condition underlying it all. There are many research based therapies that have healed many mental health conditions and fast.
